Oh wow, I sure do love Quest bars! I tried one a long time ago after all the hype and wasn’t impressed. It must have been an off day because every Quest bar I have tried since then has had me saying, “Wow, this is a good bar!” I found the Quest recipes on their Youtube page and really got excited to work with these bars to create some exciting new recipes. I immediately fell in love with the coconut cashew bar and decided right away that it was my favorite. I wanted to enjoy it in many different ways so I created this recipe.
Tropical Protein Cups
1 Quest coconut cashew bar
1 T shredded unsweetened coconut
1 T whey vanilla protein powder
1-2 T water
1 drop liquid coconut stevia
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll out one coconut cashew Quest bar and press into 2 muffin tins. Cook 5 minutes. Meanwhile, toast the coconut over medium heat in a small frying pan by tossing continually until the white coconut begins to turn golden brown. Remove cups from the oven and in a small bowl, mix together remaining ingredients. Fill cups with whey mix and top with toasted coconut.
Quest bars come in so many flavors I was just amazed! My favorites were the coconut cashew as I mentioned as well as the peanut butter and jelly, white chocolate raspberry, cookies and cream and chocolate chip cookie dough. I really enjoyed them all and thought the taste was fantastic plus the texture was nice and chewy without being gritty. I enjoyed them broiled for just a minute so that they were warm and ooey gooey but I also enjoyed them at room temperature. The lemon pie and the strawberry cheesecake were fantastic first thing in the morning before the gym. The greatest thing about these bars is that they are ALL gluten-free! In addition to being gluten-free, they are very clean and have a nice, high amount of protein, just the right amount of fat and calories and very few net carbs. I really love that they are clean and have a limited number of ingredients. The ingredients they do have are ones I know and can read which is fantastic. Some of the other great flavors I got to try included apple pie, cinnamon roll, double chocolate chunk, vanilla almond crunch, peanut butter supreme, chocolate peanut butter, chocolate brownie & banana nut muffin. These bars truly are like a delicious treat that also help you achieve your fitness goals. In addition to these tasty bars Quest also offers Quest Cravings peanut butter cups and low carb pasta. I had the opportunity to try both and thought they were great! I just had to take the peanut butter cups and make something even more decadent out of them so I created these peanut butter cup pancakes…yum!
Quest Peanut Butter Cup PancakesLuckily I had seen the “warning” about the fishy sent of the pasta water when you open the package so I was prepared. Just as soon as I rinsed them off, they didn’t smell anymore at all. The noodles reminded me of Thai noodles so I decided it would be fun to make them into a very tasty asian inspired dish. I had a bottle of San-J gluten-free szechuan sauce that I had been wanting to try so thought this would be a great time to do so. I tossed the rinsed pasta with 1/4 c. of sauce, a few sun dried-tomatoes, sliced cherry tomatoes and cut sugar snap peas and chicken apple sausage. It was so delicious! I ate the entire package of pasta and was stuffed. Luckily I didn’t have the guilt of having that much pasta because it wasn’t traditional gluten-free brown rice pasta loaded with carbs and calories.
Overall, I was very impressed with all that Quest has to offer. Their products are fantastic, full of flavor and are made up of great ingredients. I would recommend these products to anyone. So are you ready to win some Quest products all for yourself?! Enter below…
