All month long I have been bringing you products that I LOVE in honor of my favorite holiday, Valentines. Now I know the 14th has already passed but why can’t we keep celebrating the love of all wonderful things all month long right?
Good2Go bars are my absolute favorite bars out there. They are so delicious!! Good2Go bars come in four delectable flavors: Almond Butter Chocolate Chip, Almond Butter Fruit Nut, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Fruit Nut. As a big peanut butter fanatic (I love eating it right off the spoon) I thought for sure that they would be my favorite. While the peanut butter flavors were fantastic, I fell in love with the almond butter bars at first bite. The best way to describe these bars is to ask you to imagine eating cold, raw, mouth watering gluten-free cookie dough. That is what eating a Good2Go bar is like. They are really big bars so I always think, “Ya know, I think just half will be fine for now” yet, that has never happened. I literally can’t put a Good2Go bar down once I begin eating it. I personally love the slightly sweeter flavor of the chocolate chip bars because the chips are mini and aren’t overwhelming in quantity. My boys also loved these bars. However, we also enjoyed the fruit nut bars just as well and felt that they were plenty sweet. I told the owner, Casey, that I was having withdrawals from these bars after gobbling every last one up in our house. I got into the habit of having one every morning right when I woke up with a LIVE Soda Kombucha and now I need to get stocked back up again because it was my favorite meal of the day!
The great thing about Good2Go bars are that they can be a meal replacement bar. With around 300 calories, 14 grams of fat (good fat), 27 grams of carb and 18 grams of protein you really can get all the nutrients you need from a meal in this one bar. Here are some of the other wonderful benefits of these bars.
No refined sugar
Made in the USA
- Whey Protein: rapid-digesting protein that feeds muscle tissue and helps in muscle recovery
- Whole Oats: lowers cholesterol, reduces risk of heart disease, stabilizes blood sugar
- Flaxseed: promotes bone health, protects against heart disease, cancer and diabetes
- Coconut Oil: supports tissue healing, protects against osteoporosis, reduces inflammation
- Honey: anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal
- Cinnamon: anti-microbial, helps control blood sugar, improves colon health
So I know you are asking yourself the same question I did after learning about these bars. What about the oats? Now while we all know that in essence oats do not contain gluten, they do carry a great risk of cross contamination. For this reason I contacted the owner of Good2Go and asked about this as only organic oats was listed on the ingredient list not certified gluten-free organic oats. He spoke with me about how they do use gluten-free oats but that, as many of us know, re-branding can be very expensive so they aren’t able to do it now but when they do, they plan to make the update of listing certified gluten-free organic oats on the label.
