Tastefully Simple Feature & Giveaway!!

Tastefully Simple recently launched it’s line of gluten-free products. They are tested to meet the new FDA standards and are SO delicious!! The bags are nice and full with easy to follow instructions on the back the only require a couple ingredients to make. Here’s what we thought.

Vanilla Bean Pound Cake Mix: This was my absolute favorite of the four as it was SO moist and flavorful! It had a beautiful vanilla bean flavor that you could both taste and see. I love seeing little black specs of real vanilla bean in my desserts. I kid you not, this dish only a made it a day before the whole thing was gone and we only have 4 people in our house! It was just that good. It would be excellent with fresh berries and whipped cream or it is truly great on it’s own. I topped ours with sweetened and condensed milk from Brazil…yum!

Beer Bread: It is fun to have old favorites like these that are now gluten-free. This is a great bread to accompany a hearty, gluten-free cheese coup or clam chowder. It has a bold enough flavor that it holds its own next to these flavorful dishes.

Cinnamon Apple Cake: This one was more dry than the others but with cold ice-cream on top or a nice caramel topping, you are golden. I loved that it was easy to make and was a fun, festive fall dessert. I would recommend adding a tsp of cinnamon to the mix before baking.

Fudgy Brownie Mix: (This review is done by one of our contributors, Brigette) Our family loved these brownies, my #gfmotherload  wanted to eat them for breakfast for 3 days straight! (I didn’t let them, I have some limits for acceptable breakfast items) We followed the recipe exactly, they cooked about 5 minutes faster then the time, they were rich, thick and SUPER fudgy! While I could eat these anytime of the day, night, or week in the year, If you are looking for a good winter brownie recipe like the ones you could  get in college at the bookstore cafe, try out this super yummy recipe!

1 box Tastefully Simple Fudgy Brownie Mix- prepared as directed on back
1 container Marshmallow creme (GF of course!) spread on brownies while they are warm from the oven
 Mint Chocolate Fudge frosting:
1 ounce square unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 powdered confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 drop of mint extract (BE CAREFUL a little will go a LONG way- you can always add more if you want)
Melt chocolate and butter in a sauce pan on low heat.
Pour in mixer and add remaining ingredients
Add fudge frosting on top of brownie and marshmallow to top it off! YUM!
