Woohoo! I get to feature my girl Erica of Celiac and the Beast!! This amazing woman is a fantastic blogger and writer. In fact, she is currently working on her first book. You can support her here at her Kickstarter page, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/844349998/gluten-free-lifestyle-book-launch-for-celiac-and-t. If you want the nitty gritty on living with celiac disease, Erica has got it for you. She makes you laugh, she makes you cry. She knows what you are going through and is there to support you through your journey. I adore this awesome gluten free friend of mine and know you will too…
Please tell everyone a little about yourself. I’m Erica and I just turned 30 and am still exploring what I want to be when I grow up! I’m a market researcher by trade – primarily focusing on video games, health and beauty products, and packaged goods. I love getting into the mind of the consumer on what they buy and why! I guess that’s why I get excited about new product launches in the gluten-free community.
Please tell me about your gluten-free blog. Celiac and the Beast started when I really felt emotionally healed from the difficult transition from gluten-full to gluten-free, and after I had fought through some medical mysteries revolving around my diagnosis. It’s a lifestyle blog – anything from restaurant reviews to product reviews to stories about just trying to live gluten-free.
How long have you been blogging? I started April of 2012 – so just over a year!
Why did you start a gluten-free blog? SEE ABOVE.
What makes your blog different than anyone else’s? My snarky sense of humor – and my perspective on packaged goods and the need for convenience food in moderation. I don’t try to push lifestyles on anyone – other than a 100% gluten-free diet!
What would you like to see with your gluten-free blog in the future? I’d always love more readers – they help tell the story and shape commentary with their own stories and comments. I’d love to feature guest bloggers too!
What do you love about gluten-free blogging most? The ability to tell people that they are not alone in the world – whatever they are feeling!
Do you do giveaways? If so, what was your favorite giveaway? I love giveaways! It’s a great opportunity to introduce people to new items. I like the ability to get products into a consumer’s hands – especially when they really need it or want it and don’t have access to it.
Tell me some of your favorite gluten-free blogs that you read. I follow so many. If you can think of a GF blogger, I probably follow them. I love to hear what everyone is talking about. Some of my favorites are Franny Cakes, Glam Without Gluten, G-Free Foodie, A Girl Defloured, Rock a Healthy Lifestyle, G-Free Laura, Sassy Celiac, OMG the list could go on for days. I adore the community and am so excited for what bloggers are doing for the community.
