25 Days of Christmas Giveaways…Gluten Free of Course #11 Sam Mills

Have you heard of Sam Mills Pasta D’oro? Most of you probably have and there is a good reason why…because it is one of the best gluten free corn pastas out there! Sam Mills has a wonderful selection of gluten free, corn pasta cuts including Lasagne Corte, Penne Rigate, Conchillette, Rigatoni, Spaghetti, Fusilli, Tubetti Rigati, Fettuccine, Pasta for Kids-Ducks, and Pasta for Kids-Alphabet. Not to mention they’re wonderful Polenta and Corn Grits. That’s right, you can make gluten free alphabet soup as well as gluten free tamales using all Sam Mills products! I was so excited to find these lovely pastas. I was always a bit hesitant about corn pasta because I’ve only ever done brown rice and quinoa pastas, but I tell you, this was great pasta! My picky husband even enjoyed it. We made many wonderful dishes using this pasta thanks to the many different cuts. We made everything from Ragoo with pasta added to traditional Alfredo to soup and homemade tamales. Everything tasted delicious! The cooking times for the pastas were great. I loved that it wasn’t quite as sensitive when cooking as brown rice can sometimes be. Also, reheating cooked pasta was a cinch and tasted great. I could easily refrigerate leftovers and use them the next day for lunch heated up on the stove top with just a bit of sauce..and I did! :) We enjoyed Sam Mills pasta and know you will too.
