Recent Reviews (Katz, Jovial, Goldbaums, Crunchy N Yummy & Caring Candies)

We recently enjoyed some great gluten free products. First, we enjoyed some fun new treats from our friends at Katz Gluten Free. We just love all the products they make. The apple pie was another great treat from them! The filling was so moist and delicious with nice, big chunks of delicious real apple. I loved the distinct flavors of fall. When we served it with cold vanilla ice cream…yummo! What a great holiday treat.

We also had our cousin and close friends review the coffee cake for us. They said it was full of great coffee flavor. The frosting was very tasty as well. This is a nice treat to enjoy when you are craving that coffee flavor but don’t want a hot cup of Joe.

Goldbaums ice cream cones were another item we tried. The taste was great with just the right amount of sweetness and vanilla flavor. The sugar cones were very fragile, which is to be expected. We especially loved the giant version of their gluten free cone. It was so fun to eat from! I just love that all these gluten free items are becoming available to us. We are grateful to all the wonderful companies who are making it possible.

Have you heard of Jovial cookies and pasta? We hadn’t either until we reviewed them. They are hand crafted goodies from Italy. The cookies were a little more dry than I prefer, but the taste was nice. The fig filled cookie was the closest thing I have had to a fig newton in years, which was fun. The pasta, was great! We loved the firm texture and delicate flavor. It was just as you would hope a gluten free pasta would taste. This is a past I will absolutely seek out to use in the future!

Crunchy N Yummy freeze dried organic fruits were such a fun find for us. I am constantly looking for snacks to feed my kiddos that I don’t have to feel guilty about after. I need on-the-go snacks that will also benefit their little bodies (we usually grab a Larabar whenever we are going out :) and give them the nutrients they so need. Crunchy N Yummy products did just that. I could quickly grab the bag and even hand it to my 2 1/2 year old to enjoy himself. The bag and the pieces inside seem as if they were made specifically with him. He really enjoyed the pineapple while I loved the banana. Of course the strawberry and mango were yummy as well. Little Madden really enjoyed the papaya. They really are great snacks. I loved that they were gluten free AND organic. What a great combination!

Caring Candies were sent to us for review. There are an array of flavors and treats. My little Jaxton just loved them! I thought the flavors were good but I wasn’t a big fan of the sweetener, Isomalt, being used as I am a stevia and honey kind of girl. I did like that the candies are flavored with either herbs or fruit essences and the color is derived from fruit, plant or vegetables. Also, Caring Candies hard boiled sugarfree sweets are 100% FREE FROM Sugar, Artificial Sweeteners, Artificial Colorants, Gluten, Wheat, Soy, Yeast, Dairy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Potato, Eggs, Corn, Rice, Sesame, and Preservatives, which is very nice. They are also very visually appealing. Coming in small hard candy, candy cane, and lollipop form was a fun surprise. The colors were really pretty and still bright considering they are derived naturally. This is a great candy option for many.
