If you love authentic Indian food then you are absolutely going to love The Dhaba restaurant! To begin, the atmosphere was so quaint and cozy, just the environment I would like to enjoy authentic Indian food. The decor was exactly what I would expect India to look like which made the food experience even more fun. One of the things I loved most about the experience was that the yummy food was served on beautiful, authentic Indian plates and the drinks served in heavy goblets.
To start, we were brought the crisp bread that is gluten free. It is a think cracker like bread great for dipping in the 3 gluten free sauces they brought. I loved that what we received was the same as everybody else so you didn’t feel like the odd one out not getting what everyone else was getting. The 3 sauces were each so unique and tasty in their own way. The red was a spicy hot sauce, the green a cool and smooth minty sauce and the brown was an Indian barbecue sauce (we loved this one).
For drinks, we asked the waitress what she liked best and she chose the mango yogurt smoothie for us. My friend also chose the Indian chai tea. I am so glad we asked the waitress because that smoothie was amazing! It was cool, refreshing and an incredibly smooth drink that I will crave in the weeks to come I am sure.
For our entrees were were served a plate of many kinds of Indian spiced meat. Including tandoori chicken, which was our favorite, spiced shrimp and lamb. They were served with fajita style vegetables which was an excellent combination. Each was very tasty and seasoned perfectly. We were also given the vegetable rice with was SO tasty! It was full of so many delicious vegetables and Indian spices. The curry flavor wasn’t too strong. It was just right for the dish it was in. The final entree item we ate was the Spinash Kashmir, an all time favorite of mine that I just had to try here at The Dhaba. It was a yummy classic. I didn’t prefer the crisp vegetable strips on top however, did love the shredded cheese. I would recommend The Dhaba to anyone who loves a good meal, especially if you are a fan of Indian cuisine as this was the most authentic Indian food I have ever eaten.
When you visit, be sure to say hi to the owner, Raveen and thank him for creating so many wonderful menu items that are gluten free. The Dhaba was delicious!
