I lived in Ukraine for a semester while in college and grew to love the people and the food! Peirogies were something we ate often there but they of course, were not gluten free. Until seeing these new peirogies that The Grainless Baker offers, I had never seen a gluten free version so I was thrilled. I got to review the potato and cheese peirogies. I tried first boiling them in water but I didn’t like the texture that came out. After following the directions for frying them in a bit of butter, I was happy to taste this old favorite. When cooked right, it can be a nice comfort food. It sure brought me back to my time in Ukraine.
