Maggiano’s Little Italy & the amazing Chef Eric Martin…

I just have to give a quick shout out to one of the most amazing Chef’s I know. Chef Eric Martin is the Executive Chef at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Scottsdale, AZ. Chef Martin bakes THE BEST gluten free bread to bring out the the table for his gluten free diners. It is so good that every time I have been, the other diners want my bread instead of the regular gluten bread. Not only is it so tasty with its delicious butter, herb topping but it is FREE. Chef Martin prides himself making his gluten free diners experience at Maggiano’s just as amazing as those who can eat gluten. What I love about Chef Martin’s passion for gluten free cooking is that he has made it very clear when he has attended our local CDF support group meeting that with at least 72 hrs. notice he will make you practically anything your heart desires from their regular menu. I know this to be true as he as made me tiramisu and ravioli. YUM!!! I have to say that is gluten free Riggatoni D is still my favorite though with it’s delicious gluten free pasta, rich cream sauce and chicken you can’t go wrong.

Chef Martin is so good to us locals who eat gluten free that he even hosts 2 gluten free wine dinners each year! The one I went to was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with the following items:

Served Family Style 1st Course Margherita Flatbread Topped with Grape Tomatoes, Four-Cheese Blend, Fresh Mozzarella, and Julienned Basil ~ Angry Mussels Prince Edward Island Mussels Steamed with Italian Ham and Calabria peppers ~ Italian Antipasti Salad Iceberg, Romaine, Imported Prosciutto, Salami, Pepperoni, & Italian Vinaigrette

2nd Course Four Cheese Ravioli Buckwheat Ravioli tossed in Pesto-Alfredo Sauce Matanzas Creek~Chicken, Spinach, and Mushroom Lasagna Layered with Ricotta Cheese and topped with Toasted Gluten Free Herb Bread Crumbs

3rd Course Flamed Flank Steak Flank Steak Grilled with Red Onion, Orange Gremolta, served with Leek and Fennel Mashed~ Tilapia Imperial Fresh Tilapia topped with Jumbo Lump Crab Meat, finished with a White Wine Cream Sauce, Chopped Asparagus, and Diced Roma Tomatoes

4th Course Guiltless Chocolate Tort Flourless Chocolate Hazelnut Torte drizzled with homemade hot fudge

Sadly, I don’t have pictures from that delicious meal but I do have pictures from one of the other many times that I have dined at this amazing restaurant. So if you are ever in the area, don’t pass up the chance to eat one of the greatest chefs food…Chef Eric Martin of Maggiano’s Little Italy. Be sure to tell him and his amazing General Manager, Tony Roether that Chandice of Gluten Free Frenzy sent you! We just adore them both!!! 🙂

*This is our opinion and our opinion alone. We do not take any responsibility for the gluten free dining experience of others. As always, eat at your own risk as this is not a dedicated gluten free facility.

  1. I haven't been to Maggiano's in years! I don't think we have one in Utah though. Bummer.
