We have been doing a fun new feature where I highlighted other gluten-free bloggers that I think are doing a great job in the gluten-free community. I have many ideas for bloggers in mind but if you know of someone you would just love to see featured please e-mail me at email@example.com.
The gluten-free blogger I will be featuring today is a very “spunky” (I couldn’t resist!) blogger who knows her stuff when it comes to gluten-free. She has a love and desire for blogging that shows through her great posts! I now introduce to you, Kelly of The Spunky Coconut!
Please tell everyone a little about yourself.
I married my best friend and college sweetheart the year after we graduated from Tyler School of Art. We have grown together through the roller coaster that was our 20′s and I will be turning 32 this year, but I think I will always feel like a kid =) I believe feeling young has everything to do with diet and lifestyle. We live simply, are passionate about the environment, and have two amazing little girls, Zoe and Ashley. They bring me endless joy and sunshine =)
Please tell me about your gluten-free blog.
I blog about recipes that I create which are free of gluten, casein (the protein in cow milk, which closely resembles gluten on a molecular level), and refined sugar. Sometimes I also adapt recipes from my blogger friends and give them credit.
How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging since April, 2008.
Why did you start a gluten-free blog?
I have to give credit to my dear friend, Annie, for encouraging me to start my blog when we first moved to Colorado two and a half years ago. Connecting with others in similar situations, giving back—It’s all about helping each other =)
What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?
I link to products that I use to help my family and stay healthy, like our dehydrator, ice cream machine and natural ingredients. I also love to post about restaurants that are gluten-free friendly, both in my own neighborhood, and in my travels.
What would you like to see with your gluten-free blog in the future?
I don’t know. I really don’t look that far ahead into the future. I’m all about eating up the current delicious moment, and loving it =) You could say I’m crazy about the present.
What do you love about gluten-free blogging most?
I love the people. They give me endless inspiration and I’m so grateful for them. =)
Do you do giveaways? If so, what was your favorite giveaway?
Yes. My favorite giveaway was a shopping spree for iHerb, one of my favorite places to shop for healthy groceries.
Tell me some of your favorite gluten-free blogs that you read.
