I wanted to start a fun new feature where I highlighted other gluten-free bloggers that I think are doing a great job in the gluten-free community. I have many ideas for bloggers in mind but if you know of someone you would just love to see featured please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The gluten-free blogger I will be featuring today is a very knowledgeable woman when it comes to living gluten-free. She has so many recipes that will help you along your journey to eat without wheat and other things containing gluten. She also does many exciting events on her website that get you as the reader involved in gluten-free cooking. I just love it! I now introduce Linda of Gluten Free Homemaker!
Please tell everyone a little about yourself. As my blog title implies, I’m a homemaker. In 2000 I was diagnosed with celiac disease and began eating a gluten-free diet. I enjoy cooking and baking and believe that gluten-free can be delicious. I home school two of my children. The oldest is now in college. My children and husband are my taste-testers. They are not totally gluten free, but they love the gluten-free food I prepare for them.
Please tell me about your gluten-free blog. The Gluten-Free Homemaker is primarily a food blog. I post gluten-free recipes and host the weekly carnival “Gluten-Free Wednesdays.” On Wednesdays other bloggers can come and add a link to a gluten free eating idea on their blog. Usually people link recipes, but sometimes they include reviews. This year I started a monthly gluten-free cooking/baking challenge. The idea behind the challenges is to start with a basic recipe and then get creative. The first week of each month, the challenge recipes from the previous month are linked up at Gluten-Free Wednesday.
I also write about general gluten-free living, kitchen tips, and occasionally celiac disease.
How long have you been blogging? About 1 ½ years
Why did you start a gluten-free blog? Even though I had many gluten-free cookbooks, there were times when I couldn’t find a recipe I wanted. I would look online, and I was always so happy when I found just what I was looking for. I wanted to do that same thing for other people and provide gluten-free recipes to anyone who wanted them.
What kinds of products do you feature on your blog? I don’t do product reviews often, but occasionally I feature products as part of giveaways. They are either gluten-free food items or kitchen products.
What would you like to see with your gluten-free blog in the future? I post a lot of recipes, but I would like to provide more information on gluten-free living in general. I’m happy with the direction it is headed, though.
What do you love about gluten-free blogging most? I love the people most. I’ve met so many wonderful people and I love how everyone brings something different to blogging.
Do you do giveaways? If so, what was your favorite giveaway? Yes, I do giveaways occasionally. I don’t think I have a favorite.
Tell me some of your favorite gluten-free blogs that you read. That is a difficult question because there are many great blogs and I don’t want to leave anyone out. Also, I find that the time required to keep up with my own blog takes away from time I might otherwise spend reading blogs. I don’t read them as often as I would like.
How can people find you?
