Gluten Free Mongolian Beef (could be P.F. Changs twin! :)

Does anyone else just LOVE (and now miss) P.F. Chang’s Mongolian beef? I have been wishing they would add a gluten free version of this amazing dish to their menu. I decided that in the meantime I needed to create this dish myself for all of you P.F. Chang’s Mongolian Beef fans to enjoy gluten-free. Let me know what you think…My husband requested I start making it weekly so that is a good sign. Especially since he is my toughest critic. :) Love you hun!

2 teaspoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1/2 cup gluten-free soy sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup agave

*Combine oil, garlic and ginger over medium heat. Cook about 2 minutes. Add GF soy sauce, water and agave. Boil until mixture starts to thicken (about 5 minutes).

coconut oil for frying (about 1 cup)
1 lb free-range, organic flank steak
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tsp. Real Salt
1 tsp. cayenne
1 c. snap peas
1 c. broccoli florets

*Slice flank steak against the grain very thin. Combine cornstarch, Real Salt and cayenne in a bowl. Dip meat into cornstarch mixture one at a time. Let meat sit so that the cornstarch sticks. Heat frying oil in a large skillet. Cook meat in the hot oil until medium rare. When meat is all cooked, removed it from the skillet. Empty skillet of oil then return meat back to pan. Add sauce and veggies. Cook meat until it is done to your liking. Enjoy hot over rice.

  1. That looks delicious. I wish my husband liked stir fry. I love it and soy sauce but I haven't found gluten free soy sauce.

  2. San J organic Tamari is what I use. It works great! :)
